Whether we like them or not, Intelligence Officials are here to stay. This site is a guide to the real and fictional Spies and Intelligence Agencies in the world. In some countries, the agencies have police powers and some don't ( e.g. M.I.5. ) In the case of M.I.5., the information that they gain is passed onto police for arrest and prosecution. When people are asked to name a spy, most people will say James Bond. His line of work couldn't be further from the real life. Most of the time it is just sitting around watching and listening to people who pose a danger.
The site has been divided into four main areas, a brief history of spying, spy agencies, programmes/films where the spies work as a group and then those where the
series is centred on an individual spy.
You may be perplexed by the fact that there are pages on Napoleonic fictional war hero Richard Sharpe amongst these pages along with Miami Vice and Starsky and Hutch.
The reason for their inclusion is because there are a number of episodes where they either go undercover or there are spies invoved in the storyline. In Starsky
and Hutch, Huggy Bear although is just an informer, hes very much equivalent to a spy.
