Synopsis

After the death of Jack's wife at the hands of double agent Nina Myers, he has taken some time off from duty. However when CTU learn that a terrorist organisation is planning to nuke Los Angeles, he is persuaded to come back to work for them. The majority of the story is trying to find the bomb. A side story has a young blonde haired woman marrying on that day. Throughout the course of events, it transpires that she has turned to terrorist Islam and is part of the plot to bring about the nuclear explostion. Once the bomb has been found, they plan to fly it out of the city. Jack volunteers for the flight but is persuaded by George Mason who slipped aboard the flight to let him do it as hes dying. A tape recording of the terrorists planning the attack along with three middle eastern countries comes to light. The Hawks in the Palmer administration want to nuke those countries but Palmer decides to hold off until Bauer can prove the authenticity of the tapes.
