James Bond is sent to Jamaica to investigate the death of fellow secret agent Strangways. We're introduced to Q but he uses the name Major Boothroyd who instructs him to use a PPK rather than the Baretta which he had been using. When he gets to the Carribean, he meets Felix Leiter, who in this film is played by Jack Lord. Jack is more famously known for his adventures in Hawaii Five-O. His investigations lead him to Crab Key, home to the elusive Dr Julius No. He's warned that the place is home to a dragon which understandable, Bond finds sceptical. Bond visits the Island and meets up with Honey Rider in the famous beach scene.
HONEY: Are you looking for shells too?
BOND: No, I'm just looking.
They manage to evade the boat patrol but at night, they come face to face with the dragon. The dragon is a machine that is designed to scare people off the island. They are taken inside the Dr No's Lair where Bond is told about Spectre, the SPecial Executive for Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. The original organisation in the books was to be called 'SMERSH', it had Russian financial backers. As the world was too volatile at that time, it was changed for sensitivity. Dr. No's plan is to destroy America's Space Programme. After sabotaging the Doc's plans, he rescues Honey whose about to be drowned and escapes.
