00's 6 and 7 attack Russian chemical weapons factory known as Arkangel. They're caught and 006 is killed by General Oumorov.
Years later, James is on vacation in Monaco where he has a racing encounter with a dark haired female. He later discovers that she's a helicopter pilot who has now left the army and works for the Janus crime syndicate. The next day, he visits the yacht where Xenia went to the previous night to discover that the man she was with is now dead. He races to the French Frigate but it is too late, the helicopter is in the air and flying off.
The General is now head of Space Research. He pays a visit to Severnaya, a site in the wastes of Siberia. Here he conducts a test and wipes out the entire installation.
In London, the incident is picked up on spy satiellites. M orders 007 to investigate after seeing that the stolen Tiger helicopter was used in the incident. James travels to St. Petersburg where Janus organisation is headquartered. He calls on an old adversary to help him out. After a making a deal with his adversary, a meeting is set up in a sauna. James meets with Xenia once again for a bit of rough play. James insists on being taken to the head of the Janus organisation which she obliges him. He is shocked to see that the head of Janus is 006. After a conversation, he is knocked out and wakes up in the Tiger helicopter with one of the survivors of the Severnaya complex. After excaping from the Tiger, they are captured by Government forces and interrogated. The General turns up and shoots the defence minister hoping to put the blame on Bond. James and the Survivor ( Natalya ) escape from the prison but in a shoot out, Natalya is captured by the General and taken with him. James borrows a tank and follow the General through the streets of St. Petersburg. The chase comes to a head on a railway line, the General and Janus are onboard an armoured train and 007 is in a tank. James manages to board the train and confront 006. In the melee that follows, the General is shot dead and 006 escapes. 006 has primed the train to explode so whilst 007 plots their escape, Natalya works out where they are going.
James and Natalya travel to Cuba to confront 006 once again. 006 plans to transfer large amounts of cash from London banks then set off a nuclear bomb in the upper atmosphere. The result of which will cause all electrical equipment in the ground below to fry thus covering their tracks.
