A British Warship is sunk in the South China Sea, Chinese planes are blown out of the sky. The Royal Navy sends a fleet to investigate. M has forty eight hours to deal with the crisis before it gets out of hand. Bond is sent to Hamburg where Elliot Carver, a News magnate is opening his new news channel. Elliot is the primary lead because he printed the story in the newspaper much earlier than anyone else. Also signals from his satiellites were intercepted being sent to the vacinity of the incident. It just happens that Elliots wife is an old flame of James so he should use her to get information. After being beaten up, James ruins Elliots news presentation. After James meets up with Paris, the wife in the hotel, James does a bit of undercover work at the HQ. After seeing Paris dead, he escapes from Elliots goons using his car in the car park. Bond heads to the last known location of the ship. He locates the ship and meets up with Wai Linn again. They're captured by Elliots men and taken to the South Asia HQ of Carver Media Group. Handcuffed, they work together by escaping first over the side of the building then a motorcycle chase through the town. Wai takes Bond to her hide-out and they both send messages to their respective governments. That night, they hire an inflatable to hunt down the stealth ship.
