James Bond is shot dead whilst in bed. His funeral sees him sent to a watery grave where after being picked up by a submarine comes alive. When Russian and American spacecraft begin disappearing, the super-powers are poised to attack each other. Just before the spaceships disappear, the astronauts report seeing the other countries flag on the side of the enemy ship. Bond is sent to Japan to investigate. He joins up with a Japanese group, becomes Japanese and gets a wife. His investigations lead to a volcanic island which is hollow and home to Spectre.
