UNCLE or in its entirety, "United Network Command for Law Enforcement" is a fictional international agency. A lot of people thought it
was to do with the United Nations and sent of applications to join them. The U.N. didn't like that and objected.
The series was created soon after the world woke up to James Bond. It was in fact created by Ian Fleming.
He was approached by a television station asking him to create a television equivalent which he set about doing so.
However the people behind the 007 films weren't too happy with this and he was forced to pull out.
The two agents would face off against WASP later changed to THRUSH. What the letters in THRUSH stood for was never revealed in the series.
However in books, it was revealed to be Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity.
All the films except 'The Return of' are episodes from the series merged together. |
